Glam Minus the Guilt

Most of the time, I don’t rock anything more than lip balm. I mean, honestly, I’ve always had a contentious relationship with make-up. As a youth, I committed damn near every make-up taboo in the book, including dark red/brown lipstick with black lip liner and black and white eyeliner (yes, together). So with the horror of those days in my not-so-distant-memory, I don’t really mess with it unless there’s an occasion… or someone else does it for me. But after this newest discovery, I might have to pick up a powder brush…
Enter Crush Groove.
Along with having a fresh name, Crush Groove offers a full line of all natural cosmetics. The online cosmetic boutique was started in January 2007 by Jenique Bell of Harlem. After suffering for many years with severe skin problems, Bell decided to create her own make-up using herbal based ingredients. This line of organic cosmetics is bright and beautiful and is fair trade, with vegan ingredients like lavender, arrowroot powder, calendula, hemp, neutral henna, jojoba, shea butter, green tea, ylang ylang. To top it all off, the whole line is handmade locally in Harlem!
Crush Groove’s obvious dopeness transcends the deliciousness of their all natural ingredients. This eco-chic company represents environmental consciousness across the board. Not only do they not over package their products, but all the packaging and labels are made from recyclable material. The progressive cosmetic line even has a recycling program for their Raw Earth and Henna & Spice powders. Order a refill for your powder container and get $5 off your purchase!
With Crush Groove you can be fly and conscious. Try it out and let us know what you think.
