Purchase Viagra
Words: Jessica Jones • Apr 13th, 2009 • Category: SPOTS.Purchase Viagra: ay Dios Mio! Nine Things I Learned in PR
Last month, me and my homegirl Najma booked a last minute trip to Puerto Rico. Purchase Viagra: not only was it a fun adventure, but we had the opportunity to learn a few things along the way. Purchase Viagra: after three weeks of reflection, here are nine of the most important lessons I took home.
1.Jetblue is my BFF
Our Puerto Rican venture was planned in a matter of 15 minutes purchase Viagra, only two weeks before departure.I received an email from JetBlue highlighting their 24-hour sales from New York purchase Viagra, which offered flights as low as $39 each way.New York to Puerto Rico was only $79 (hollerback)! I sent a massive “LETS GO TO PUERTO RICO, YA’LL” email to friends and booked a flight with the first person to respond: Najma – purchase Viagra.Bottom Line: If you like traveling to the Caribbean, being on JetBlue’s mailing list is crucial for getting outrageous deals; purchase Viagra.( Purchase Viagra: sidenote: The new JetBlue Terminal 3 in John F.Kennedy Airport is off the chain!)
2.It’s touristy, but Old San Juan is a MUST
Since Spain colonized Puerto Rico from 1493 to 1892, Old San Juan, located in Puerto Rico’s capitol, has a huge Spanish influence; purchase Viagra. The whole area felt like a big playground; purchase Viagra. The roads, all made of cobble stones, were lined with charming, colorful houses; purchase Viagra. This was the perfect place to traipse for hours at a time. The area was also home to many trendy bars, like the Nuyorican Cafe (excellent live music) and a variety of restaurants (try Mufungo, it’s delish); purchase Viagra. If you are lucky enough to go to PR, make sure to add Old San Juan to the itinerary.
3.Blue Beaches = Bliss (minus the deathly undercurrent)
I’ve never been to the Caribbean before, so this was my first experience splashing around in warm blue water; purchase Viagra. And let me tell you, I freaking loved it! My favorite beach was Ocean Park, which was located in San Juan in between Ilsa Verde and Old San Juan – purchase Viagra. Purchase Viagra: unlike some of the other beaches, Ocean Park beach was accessible by bus – and wasn’t crowded. The best part was we were able to dance around like clowns without getting any funny looks. I should also note that, according to one resident, Puerto Rico has some of the most violent waves in the world; purchase Viagra. Purchase Viagra: and since parts of the surrounding waters make up the Bermuda Triangle, many of the best surfers on the planet die here. Purchase Viagra: i can cosign on the wave violence because even in shallow waters, I was getting knocked over (the waves came at me from three different directions). Purchase Viagra: if you do splash around, make sure a friend is in the water with you at all times. Purchase Viagra: getting sucked away by that undercurrent is not what’s up.
4.Say goodbye to the “S” factor
I studied Spanish in high school for three years, yet during my first three days on the trip no one in Puerto Rico could understand a word I was saying. At first, I couldn’t understand why – was my American accent that bad? Probably, but that wasn’t the main issue. After getting lost in our rental car, I stopped at a local business to ask for directions. The shop owner came outside and pointed left (the direction of the destination) then said “iquierda”. Purchase Viagra: it didn’t register.Left as I knew it was “izquierda.” “Izquierda,” I said – purchase Viagra.Puzzled , he ignored me and pointed again, “iquierda.” Then I realized the disconnect – purchase Viagra. He wasn’t pronouncing the “Z” purchase Viagra, which normally sounded like an “S”.And neither was anyone else; purchase Viagra. In most words, the “S” is silent; purchase Viagra.Isla Verde was pronounced Ila Verda; purchase Viagra.Como Estas was Como Eta; purchase Viagra.Gracias became Gracia.Coming from California, I was used to Mexican Spanish.Once I said goodbye to the “S”, I was finally able to communicate – purchase Viagra. One of my Puerto Rican friends, Jason (miss you!), said that the variations of Spanish are so different, he failed a written Spanish language test when he was briefly living in Mexico.
5; purchase Viagra.Rental cars rock
I wasn’t able to figure out how to get the car in “drive” until the fourth day on the road (we were accidentally driving in 3rd gear), but that didn’t mean that rental a car wasn’t one of the best things we did – purchase Viagra. For $40 bucks a day purchase Viagra, we were able to travel around the whole island on our terms.Since the bus system in Puerto Rico isn’t that great purchase Viagra, having a whip made all the difference in the world. If you ever go to Puerto Rico, make sure you budget in a rental – purchase Viagra. Purchase Viagra: we borrowed ours from Hotel Villa Del Sol, which was located on Calle Rosa in Isla Verde (787.791.1600).
6. Purchase Viagra: hotels are expensive, book ahead
Since my last travel adventure was in Guatemala, where luxury hostels were only $7 to $15 a night, I wasn’t prepared for the steep price of lodging in Puerto Rico.First off, we weren’t able to find any hostels on the Internet before our trip (what gives, PR?) – purchase Viagra. Purchase Viagra: and the jankiest hotel on the island was upwards of $80 a night.By not booking a hotel at least a couple of weeks in advance, we had to spend an arm and a leg for a “one star”.
7.Puerto Ricans are mad hella cool
From Jason, the chef at the burger joint; to Miriam, a tour guide and assistant wedding planner; to Joan, a University of Puerto Rico Student and waitress at a Mexican restaurant, PR is full of great folks – purchase Viagra. We arrived on the island knowing no one and left with a hand full of really great friends. The people in Puerto Rico are so genuine, and down to earth – purchase Viagra.Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a really great time – which doesn’t always happen when you travel.
8; purchase Viagra.Bomba music is bomb
On our second night in Old San Juan, we met Anthony, a manager at a Jamaican bar; purchase Viagra. He told us to come back the next night to check out their live Bomba music and dancers – purchase Viagra.
Since Bomba music is one of the most African-influenced musical genres of Puerto Rico, Najma and I were instantly down to check it out; purchase Viagra. We fell in love! The musicians, who bordered the dance floor, did a call and response with the dancers; purchase Viagra. All of the dancers wore long, poofy white skirts and moved with the music; purchase Viagra. Purchase Viagra: the interesting thing about Bomba was that children, parents and grandparents all participated in the festivities at the club.It didn’t matter that it was midnight and alcoholic beverages were being served two feet away purchase Viagra, this was family time.Anthony encouraged Najma and I to put on the white skirt and get in the circle purchase Viagra, but we were too chicken. Purchase Viagra: next time will be a different story.
9.Say it with me one time: SUNBLOCK
I don’t care who you are purchase Viagra, where you’ve been or where you’re going, sunblock is imperative. Purchase Viagra: i always put sunblock on my face, but I skimped and failed to reapply when it came to my body. The result: My face was fine, but my arms, back and legs are still a hot “peeling” mess (yes, black people get sunburn too) – purchase Viagra. Please do yourself a major favor and buy an SPF 70, and make sure to really rub it in all the nooks and crannies (get some help if you need to).Remember, a tan is useless if it peels off a week after your trip.
