Pandora Radio
PUTTING YOU IN CONTROL OF THE FLAVOR IN YOUR EAR
Ever wish you could create your own radio station? I do! I can’t stand listening to the same three songs in rotation on the mainstream airwaves. If I hear Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girl” again, I’m going to commit suicide.
Thankfully, there’s a solution. It’s called Pandora Radio. This internet radio station was created by a group of musicians and music-loving technologists in January 2000.
Here’s how it works. Go to the website: www.pandora.com. Type in the name of an artist or song that you like. Pandora will generate a play-list similar to the artist or song you choose. As it plays each song, you have the option of giving the track a thumbs up or a thumbs down. A thumbs up = more of the same, while a thumbs down = try again.
I typed in Stan Getz and I’ve been on a nice bossa nova trip for a two days.
