WHERE TONE DEATH SONGBIRDS SHINE

With karaoke establishments in China and Taiwan that are as common as corner bodegas in Washington Heights, it’s no wonder that East Asia has us beat when it comes to this form of entertainment that allows anyone to hit high notes like Mariah. But now, with Karaoke DUET’s two Midtown locations, you finally have somewhere to take your man who swears his flow is better than Weezy’s.

Regardless if you have a party of two or 28, both Karaoke DUET 35 and 48 can accommodate you with private rooms that come equipped with flat screen TVs, wireless microphones and books full of over 60,000 songs in English, Spanish, Japanese and Korean. Have a friend that’s allergic to fun and would rather sit around watching everyone else enjoy themselves? No worries, Karaoke DUET’s delicious cocktails will have him/her belting R. Kelly and Ronald Isley’s “Nobody has to Know” with the rest of you in no time.

Other than the drinks and extensive song selection, the best part about DUETs are their low, low prices that stay the same regardless of how small or large your group is. Stop by anytime before 8pm on a Monday through Thursday night with a couple of coworkers, and everyone pays only $4 each.

Tired of your partner’s low-down-dirty-shaming ways? Forget therapy - a couple of drinks, a long list of Mary J. Blige songs or few verses of Oran “Juice” Jones’ “The Rain”, and a room full of jilted friends will help you get it all off your chest. Trust.
