“I hope that the people in this project realize that they are celebrities in my eye, far more inspiring than any Brittany Spears or John McCain. I really hope that this is a domino effect, that other people take others in their neighborhood - if it’s 10 people to 50 people - and photograph them.”

A year and a half ago, Chanel Kennebrew had to make a crucial decision. The 26-year-old Art Director worked at a design firm in New York City. When the two partners who ran the firm decided to split, Kennebrew had to choose sides.

There were bins stacked floor to ceiling with your heart’s content of fabric, yarn, sewing machines, paints, scissors, markers, water colors and hot glue guns. After confirming a few more times that everything was in fact F-R-E-E, my sister and I dug in.

I try to come up with clever ways of visually stating what I’m feeling, without it just being like blatant. I just it comes from life and just how I see it.

Growing up, Philadelphia-based artist Stefan Kietzman drew outside the lines and now throws paint on everything from sneakers to vinyls to windows.
